Cargo Claims Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Cargo Claims Temp to support our
logistics and claims department. The ideal candidate will assist in processing, tracking,
and resolving cargo claims in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and
compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This is a temporary
position intended to provide additional support during peak periods or to cover for
regular staff absences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, log, and acknowledge incoming cargo claims from customers, carriers,
• and internal teams.
•  Review shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, proof of delivery, photos,
• inspection reports) to validate claims.
• Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal departments to gather
• required documentation and information.
• Assist in determining claim liability based on documentation and company
• policies.
• Enter claim details into the claim management system and update records as
• needed.
• Monitor the status of open claims and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
• Help prepare claim summaries, reports, and correspondence.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper claim files.
• Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

•  
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Previous experience in logistics, freight, shipping, or claims handling is a plus.
•  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of cargo claim procedures or freight documentation is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Office environment; 3 days a week
• Standard business hours, with possible flexibility depending on workload.

Compensation:

• Hourly rate: $20
