CNC Machine Operator – Mills and/or Lathes
Location: Aurora, IL

Schedule

2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
(Overtime as required)

Pay Rate

CNC Operator: $20.00 – $22.00/hour or more, depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking skilled and dependable CNC Machine Operators to join our Midway Staffing team in Aurora, IL. This role includes standard CNC Operator positions for both mills and lathes. Candidates will be evaluated and placed based on experience, technical skill, and equipment proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to produce quality parts

• Operate computer consoles to perform assigned machining operations

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions

• Set up jobs according to prints and established procedures; adjust fixtures as needed

• Select appropriate feeds and speeds to ensure quality and efficiency

• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools

• Make simple machine adjustments to maintain part quality

• Complete required documentation and ensure accurate inventory transactions

• Work closely with production, quality, and other departments to meet production goals

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area

• Cross-train in other departments as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

• CNC lathe and mill machine operator experience required

Skills:

• Ability to read and understand prints, tolerances, and quality specifications

• Proficient with measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers

• Strong math, measurement, and problem-solving skills

• Computer literate with experience operating CNC equipment

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Ability to plan, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
