Press Operator

We are seeking experienced Press Operators to join a clean, safe, and temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting flexographic press equipment while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are met. This position also supports hazardous materials handling and documentation in compliance with EPA, DOT, and OSHA requirements.

Pay Range: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Shift Differential: +$1.00/hour for nights
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Available Openings:

• 1 Press Operator – Days (12-hour shift)

• 1 Press Operator – Nights (12-hour shift + $1/hr differential)

Shift Schedule:

• 2-2-3 schedule (12-hour shifts)

• Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

• Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

• Must be available to work weekends and holidays

• No rotating shifts

What You’ll Do:

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot flexographic press equipment

• Monitor press performance, product quality, and material usage

• Adjust inks, coatings, papers, plates, and press configurations

• Inspect printed product and raw materials for quality compliance

• Prepare, mount, inspect, and remove printing plates and cylinders

• Clean press components, plates, rollers, and doctor blades

• Perform basic mechanical adjustments and troubleshooting

• Complete all production, quality, and material usage documentation

• Maintain housekeeping standards and a safe, organized work area

• Support continuous improvement, teamwork, 5S, and WCM initiatives

• Follow all product safety and quality procedures

Hazardous Materials & Compliance Responsibilities:

• Participate in hazardous waste handling and tracking programs

• Maintain compliance with EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations

• Coordinate controlled material storage, labeling, audits, and pickups

• Complete required inspections, reports, and documentation

• Maintain DOT Hazmat certification and required annual training

• Assist with SDS management, audits, and regulatory inquiries

Preferred Qualifications:

• Flexographic press experience preferred

• OR 5+ years of machine operation and troubleshooting experience

• Manufacturing or industrial machine operation experience required

• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

• Ability to read a ruler and basic measurements

• Basic computer skills

• Strong communication and organizational skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs

• Push/pull 20–55 lbs

• Stand and walk for 8–12 hour shifts

• Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and twisting

• Frequent use of hands and wrists

• Ability to work on platforms and concrete floors

• Ability to see details as small as 1/16 of an inch

• Work environment may include noise, dust, fumes, vibration, hot/cold temperatures, and uneven surfaces
