Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist - Entry Level

Location: Hattiesburg, MS, 39402
Pay: $16 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

The Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist supports transportation and vehicle movement operations by coordinating with carriers, auctions, and internal teams. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and comfortable holding vendors accountable while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Make real-time recorded phone calls to verify vehicle status with pickup locations

• Monitor and correct master data files for location or system errors

• Manage shared email inboxes and collaborate on regional communications

• Request Hold Harmless agreements and releases

• Process transportation fees and assessorial charges

• Enter and process manual and AS400 system orders

• Investigate carrier VIN kickbacks and coordinate re-dispatch

• Manage escalated client VIN issues with internal teams

• Monitor transportation holds and verification delays

• Negotiate dispatch terms to improve margin performance

• Update AutoIMS for transportation delays, cancellations, and ETA changes

• Follow up daily with carriers regarding assigned VINs

• Hold carriers accountable to agreed plans and timelines

• Create and manage corrective action plans for vendors

• Monitor and correct order entry failures

• Track and understand margin performance requirements

• Build relationships with auction commercial teams and management

• Analyze performance metrics for clients and vendors

• Generate transportation and performance reports for leadership

• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Demonstrate proactive problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Required Qualifications

• 1–3 years of administrative experience (automotive industry preferred)

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Valid Driver’s License

• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong customer service and multitasking abilities

• High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrix environment

• Ability to operate with urgency and prioritize tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications

• Some college education

• 1+ year experience in transportation, logistics, or automotive auction environment

• 1+ year experience in sales or call center setting
