Location: Elgin, IL
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $22–$25 per hour
Position Type: Full-Time | Temporary (6-Month Assignment) | Non-Exempt

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support the Accounting and Finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate accounts receivable records, applying cash payments, assisting with invoicing, supporting collections efforts, and responding to audit requests. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable communicating with customers and internal leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Post and apply customer payments accurately

• Assist with cash applications and bank deposits

• Perform customer account reconciliations

• Support invoice processing and ensure timely, accurate billing

• Process customer credits in a timely manner

• Assist with collections on past-due accounts

• Manage unapplied payments and maintain resolution within 30 days

• Ensure payments are applied correctly and within terms

• Apply appropriate discounts and rebates when applicable

• Support audit documentation requests

• Complete additional accounting-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data analysis functions)

• High attention to detail and organizational skills

• 1–2 years of accounting or accounts receivable experience preferred

Work Environment
This position is based onsite in Elgin, Illinois. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.

Additional Information
This is a temporary 6-month assignment with the possibility of extension based on business needs. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
