Have you ever wanted a career in construction, but prefer being part of the technical/office team instead of working in the field? We are seeking a Draftsman Trainee for a paid, full-time internship within a drafting department. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to break into the structural steel industry with little to no prior drafting experience. This internship is designed to train candidates from the ground up, with the goal of conversion to a full-time role upon successful completion.

Location: El Mirage, AZ
Schedule: Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:15 PM | Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay rate: Starting at $17.00 per hour

Duties:

• Create, manipulate, and review structural fabrication drawings

• Read, visualize, and interpret technical drawings and documents

• Perform data entry and assist with document processing

• Support document control and file transmission processes

• Collaborate with drafting and production teams

• Learn and apply drafting principles and industry standards

• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all assignments

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Intermediate math skills (basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry)

• Advanced computer skills

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Preferred (not required):

• Experience or coursework in technical graphics or drafting
