Location: Agawam, MA.
Work schedule: Onsite - Monday through Friday

What You’ll Do:
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings, models, and specifications to create precise CNC programs for milling, turning, drilling, grinding, and other machining operations.
- Develop and implement CNC programs using leading CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam or GibbsCAM, generating complex toolpaths that ensure efficiency and quality.
- Optimize machining parameters, including tool selection, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies, to improve surface finish and reduce cycle times.
- Conduct simulations and test runs, verify program accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and refine processes to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet exact design and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CNC programming and machine tooling issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Document processes meticulously, including CNC programs, setup sheets, tooling lists, and instructions.
- Mentor and train junior CNC programmers and machinists, sharing best practices and safety protocols.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance your expertise.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience programming CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on complex machining tasks.
- Expertise in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, especially Mastercam and GibbsCAM.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials, and surface finishes.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, models, and technical specifications with precision.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for resolving machining issues swiftly.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to quality.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and train team members.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to CNC machining.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with multi-axis (5-axis) machining and complex geometries.
- Familiarity with electronics and electrical safety practices related to CNC equipment.
- Knowledge of advanced tooling technologies and cutting-edge manufacturing practices.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience/certifications).
- 7+ years of proven experience in CNC programming, especially with complex machining tasks.
Other Requirements:
- This is an onsite position with a Monday through Friday schedule.
- Candidates should be comfortable working near moving machinery and adhering to safety protocols.
- Physical ability to stand, sit, handle tools, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
