First Shift Warehouse Lead

Warehouse Lead - 1st Shift
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations on the 1st shift. This role ensures efficient workflow, accurate order fulfillment, safety compliance, and effective supervision of warehouse associates. The Warehouse Lead serves as a hands-on leader, supporting both production goals and team development.

Location: Madison WI
Schedule: Monday - Friday| 08:30 AM - 5:00 PM 
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour

Duties:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse associates during 1st shift operations
• Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure all work is completed accurately and on time
• Oversee receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of products
• Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reporting discrepancies
• Train, coach, and support team members on processes, equipment, and safety procedures
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
• Communicate with supervisors and management regarding production issues, staffing needs, or delays
• Ensure orders are fulfilled correctly and meet quality standards before shipment

Requirements:

• Prior warehouse or distribution experience required (lead or senior-level preferred)
• Forklift experience and certification preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Basic computer or warehouse management system (WMS) experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Mechanical or technical certification (a plus)
• Experience with torque specifications and precision measurements
• Leadership or mentoring experience
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices

Work Environment & PPE:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
• Operating warehouse equipment safely
