Receiving Supervisor – Day Shift
Shift: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat | 01:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Position Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily receiving operations within a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate receipt of incoming materials, proper inventory control, timely processing of shipments, and compliance with company safety and quality standards. The Receiving Supervisor leads warehouse personnel, coordinates with vendors and carriers, and supports overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily receiving activities and warehouse staff
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
- Inspect materials for damage, accuracy, and quality compliance
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and inventory tracking of received goods
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or warehouse management systems
- Train, coach, and monitor receiving team performance and productivity
- Schedule staff assignments and prioritize workflow to meet operational demands
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, and shipping departments
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as needed
- Enforce OSHA safety standards and company policies within the warehouse
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to shipments, inventory, or documentation
- Prepare reports related to receiving, inventory, and department performance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce errors
Qualifications
- 2+ years of warehouse or receiving experience preferred
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment
- Knowledge of inventory systems, shipping/receiving procedures, and warehouse operations
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS systems
