Midway Staffing is hiring dependable and hardworking Record Center Specialists for a records management facility in Birmingham, AL. This position involves processing orders, moving and organizing storage boxes, operating scanners, and assisting with inventory management. Candidates must be comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the shift in a warehouse environment.

Location: Birmingham, AL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr
Overtime: Available based on business needs

Job Summary

Record Center Specialists process orders and move boxes of files, books, binders, backup tapes, and other stored materials. This role requires frequent lifting, carrying, moving, and organizing boxes while standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting throughout the workday. Employees are on their feet for approximately 7 hours per shift.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Process incoming and outgoing orders for records, files, and storage materials
• Lift, move, organize, and load storage boxes, bins, and totes
• Operate handheld scanners and computer systems to track inventory and orders
• Load and unload boxes onto pallets, carts, and trucks
• Use pallet jacks, hand carts, and other material handling equipment
• Organize inventory and maintain accurate records of stored materials
• Load and shrink-wrap pallets at ground level or on carts
• Read labels and accurately process inventory transactions
• Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines

Essential Functions

• Walk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, bend, and reach for extended periods
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and move boxes weighing up to 100 lbs. without assistance
• Work on concrete and uneven walking surfaces
• Load and safely operate pallet jacks, hand carts, and other material handling equipment
• Climb and balance on ladders when necessary
• Use handheld scanners and warehouse computer systems
• Read and write English for order processing and inventory tracking

Requirements

• Steel toe or safety toe footwear is required
• Ability to regularly lift and carry boxes weighing between 10 lbs. and 100 lbs. without assistance
• Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
• Basic computer skills and ability to use handheld scanners
• Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment
