Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Job Description
Midway Staffing is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Production Assembler to support daily manufacturing operations in Harleysville, PA. This position combines hands-on assembly work with team leadership responsibilities, helping ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
The Lead Production Assembler will serve as a working lead, assisting with training, workflow coordination, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting supervisors with daily operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and experience working in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Production & Assembly
- Perform all duties of a Production Assembler, including assembly of components and electrical enclosures
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, work orders, and manufacturing documents
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, drills, measuring devices, and assembly equipment
- Assist with installation and mounting of materials within electrical enclosures
- Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
Leadership & Coordination
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to production team members
- Assist with assigning work and prioritizing production schedules to meet customer deadlines
- Train and onboard new employees on assembly procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards
- Monitor workflow and help remove production bottlenecks
- Communicate production issues, material shortages, equipment concerns, and staffing needs to supervisors
- Lead by example through safe work practices, professionalism, and strong attendance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Assist supervisors with tracking productivity and maintaining production goals
Safety & Quality
- Ensure team members follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Verify assembled products meet engineering specifications and quality standards
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions related to quality issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent physical activity throughout the shift, including:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands and arms for assembly work
- Reaching, bending, twisting, and lifting materials
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely
- Working around manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Ability to see details at close range and perform precision work
- Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a production environment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of manufacturing, production, or assembly experience preferred
- Previous lead, trainer, mentor, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to train and motivate team members
- Basic computer skills and production documentation experience preferred
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and production floor environment
- Standing for long periods throughout the shift
- Exposure to moving machinery and production equipment
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
- PPE and safety procedures must be followed at all times
