Bilingual Shop Manager – Steel Fabrication

Midway Staffing is seeking an experienced Bilingual Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy steel fabrication shop. This leadership role is responsible for planning production, managing fabrication teams, assigning employees to projects, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and keeping projects on schedule from start to finish. The ideal candidate has previous steel fabrication management experience, is fluent in both English and Spanish, and is committed to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Monday – Friday | Full-Time | Overtime as Needed
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00/hour

Duties

• Plan and prioritize daily production schedules to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

• Assign employees to fabrication projects throughout the day and monitor production progress.

• Inspect welds and fabricated products to ensure they meet blueprint specifications, required dimensions, and quality standards.

• Verify that all welds meet quality standards before materials are released to the field.

• Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish with production employees, leadership, field personnel, engineering, and office staff.

• Calculate labor hours, monitor inventory, and coordinate material purchasing.

• Ensure compliance with AWS, AISC, and company safety standards.

• Conduct safety meetings and oversee preventative maintenance of shop equipment.

• Evaluate employee performance, provide coaching, and resolve workplace issues.

Requirements

• Fluent in both English and Spanish (Bilingual) – REQUIRED.

• Candidates must be able to communicate, lead, and provide direction in both English and Spanish.

• Previous experience managing a structural steel or steel fabrication shop is required.

• Hands-on welding experience with the ability to inspect and verify weld quality.

• Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, welding processes, structural steel fabrication, and quality control.

• Experience creating production schedules and leading fabrication teams.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
