Job Description
Midway Staffing is hiring an experienced Punch Press Operator / Setup person in Lake Forest, IL! Put your manufacturing experience to work with a precision metal stamping team.
Location: Lake Forest, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed
Pay Rate: $20/hr
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate punch presses according to job specifications and instructions.
- Set material feeds using mechanical, servo, or air feed systems.
- Work with Smart Pac or Wintress press operating systems.
- Obtain required forms, specifications, and instructions from Quality Control.
- Read vernier/dial calipers and micrometers to complete in-process inspections.
- Complete production paperwork, including accurate part counts and time records.
- Follow packaging and labeling instructions listed on job travelers.
- Report press or die problems and actual or potential product quality concerns to the supervisor or Quality Control.
- Stop production when known or suspected nonconforming conditions exist.
- Follow quality policies and objectives associated with ISO 9001:2015.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous manufacturing experience, including punch press operation and setup.
- Familiarity with press controls and material feed systems.
- Ability to use calipers and micrometers accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift materials weighing approximately 30–50 pounds and perform essential job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Availability to work overtime as needed.
