Material Handler 

A Material Handler in electrical manufacturing is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and distributing raw materials and components used in the production process. This role ensures the timely delivery of materials to production lines, maintains accurate inventory records, and collaborates with various departments to support efficient workflow. Material Handlers may also operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment, follow established safety procedures, and maintain clean, organized warehouse and storage areas.

Location: Garland, TX

Schedule: 1st shift Monday-Thursday 5AM-3:30PM (4- 10 hour shifts)

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, organize, and store incoming materials and components.

• Transport and distribute materials to production lines and designated storage areas.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and update information using computer systems.

• Load and unload shipments safely and efficiently.

• Operate forklifts, lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as required.

• Assist with inventory control and ensure materials are properly staged for production.

• Follow established procedures for scrap salvage and material handling.

• Follow written and verbal instructions and comply with all safety procedures.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage areas.

• Collaborate with production and other departments to support efficient workflow.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of shipping and receiving experience.

• Previous warehouse, inventory control, or material-handling experience.

• Experience operating forklifts and lift trucks.

• Demonstrated computer literacy and the ability to maintain accurate inventory records.

• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

• Dependability, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Work Environment: This position is based in a manufacturing and warehouse environment that may involve loud production areas, varying temperatures, and occasional outdoor tasks. The role requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, sitting, and performing repetitive tasks while handling materials and supporting production operations.

Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
