Job Description
We are seeking a Bilingual Scrap Yard Associate for a recycling facility in Wadsworth, IL. This position supports daily yard operations by assisting customers, keeping traffic moving, maintaining material quality, and helping ensure a safe, clean yard.
Location: Wadsworth, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; possible overtime
Pay rate: $17.00–$20.00 per hour
Duties:
- Assist customers and communicate yard directions in English and Spanish.
- Help direct customer and vehicle traffic to keep yard operations moving efficiently.
- Identify ferrous and non-ferrous metals and help maintain material quality.
- Support daily material handling and yard activities.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow safety procedures while working around vehicles, materials, and uneven surfaces.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages. Perfect English is not required.
- Working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand and walk on uneven ground.
- One to three years of experience in scrap, recycling, warehouse operations, or a similar yard environment preferred.
