Bilingual Recycling Yard Associate

We are seeking a Bilingual Recycling Yard Associate for a recycling facility in Wadsworth, IL. In this active, outdoor position, you will greet customers, direct yard traffic, inspect incoming scrap metal, and help maintain a safe, organized facility. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong communication skills and knowledge of scrap metals who enjoys working with customers and staying active throughout the day.

Location: Wadsworth, IL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; possible overtime
Pay rate: $17.00–$20.00 per hour

Duties:

• Greet customers and direct them to the appropriate unloading areas based on material type and quality.
• Monitor unloading activity and inspect materials to ensure they meet facility standards.
• Identify and grade ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals and ensure proper material separation.
• Maintain safe, efficient traffic flow throughout the yard.
• Answer basic customer questions and provide unloading guidance.
• Communicate with scale house personnel and yard staff using a smartphone or radio.
• Assist with occasional hands-on sorting of scrap materials.
• Enforce yard safety rules and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Promptly report unacceptable materials and safety concerns to management.
• Support yard cleanliness and organization.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
