Production Associate - Food 

We are a staffing agency currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Food Production Associate for a production environment in Little Canada, MN. 

Location: Little Canada, MN
Department: Grab & Go
Pay Rate: $18.25 per hour
Schedule: 1st shift, starting at 7:30 AM and working until production is complete. First-day start time is 8:00 AM. The standard schedule may include Monday–Saturday, with one weekday off.

Position Overview

We are urgently hiring dependable Production Associates to support food preparation, assembly, packaging, and production line operations. Candidates with previous assembly, packaging, food production, or warehouse experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Important Working Conditions

• Cold and wet environment: Approximately 36°F. Candidates must arrive dressed and prepared to work in cold, damp conditions.

• Food handling: Employees will handle meat, pork, dairy, and products containing nut allergens.

• Availability: Candidates must be ready to start as soon as background checks clear. The client will not wait for candidates to complete a notice period.

• Contract timeline: The initial assignment is expected to run from August or September through Thanksgiving. Staffing levels may decrease during November/December, with another production ramp-up expected from January 2027 through June 2027. Continued employment is based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist production line leaders with daily operations, workflow, and production activities.

• Prepare, cut, assemble, and repackage food products according to customer specifications.

• Operate production equipment, including potato peelers, bag sealers, and other hand-operated machinery.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production area.

• Clean and sanitize floors, tables, cutting boards, equipment, and other work surfaces.

• Follow food safety, sanitation, GMP, and SQF standards.

• Monitor production quality and productivity to meet company standards.

• Communicate production issues or concerns to supervisors and recommend improvements when appropriate.

• Support efficient production workflows and help ensure products are ready for daily production runs.

Qualifications

• Previous assembly, packaging, food production, or warehouse experience preferred.

• Experience in a high-volume production environment is a plus.

• Basic understanding of food processing, sanitation, and GMP procedures preferred.

• Ability to safely handle sharp knives, peelers, and hand-operated equipment.

• Basic computer skills and effective verbal communication.

• Ability to lift and move 25–50 pounds safely and consistently.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive production tasks.

• Willingness to learn production processes and lean manufacturing practices.

• Bilingual candidates preferred.

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
